Oh wow! Your work is gorgeous, Alana!
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I would LOVE for Evelyn to come live with me. I want to photograph her getting into all kinds of mischief! Also, I had a dream the other night, and in it I had a daughter named Evelyn. I don't have any kids.
Thank you for participating in OWOH 2011. I hope you get a chance to pop by my blog, #51, on your journey.
Hugs from ON, Canada

Now this is what OWOH is about, stumbling randomly upon someone fun enough to follow! (although, WOW, your door prizes are simply wondrous!) I loved reading through/ following the photos of your doll making process. I did a sculpting doll making retreat last year, we all made totem animals. In just a few weeks I'll be returning with the same group of friends/artists to what's become our "2nd annual" retreat and this year the hostess is teaching us to make fae dolls. I'm excited and somewhat intimidated at the thought. You can see pics of our first retreat on my studio blog if you're interested. In any case, hope you can stop by my blogs on your OWOH travels. It's very nice to "meetcha".

OWOH

My goodness, over the last couple of weeks I've found so many new, wonderful blogs; and started following quite a few of them. I use Google Reader to view my subscriptions, of which there are now so many - I think I'm in danger of breaking the internets!

I'll be closing comments on my One World One Heart post tomorrow @ 8pm. I'll draw & announce winners right after.

Strictly speaking this will be a day late as it's already the 17th in NZ, but as so many of my visitors have been from parts of the world where it's still yesterday, I think it will be OK.

In the meantime, here's a baby giraffe to tide you over.

One World One Heart

Once again, I've found a fantastic web-event, but in its final year.

One World One Heart is a worldwide event meant to connect bloggers. I've found some amazing blogs through it already.
And the bestest part? DOOR PRIZES!

Hi, I'm Alana. :)

I trained as a classical animator (that's hand-drawn to lay-people), but am now a dirty traitor and teach computer animation.
And I have a nigh compulsive need to MAKE THINGS.
I dabble in altered art, scrapbooking, jewelery/beading, knitting, painting. But my passion is dolls.
Cloth dolls, polymer clay dolls, BJDs, vinyl dolls, paper dolls...

Currently I've been on a roll making OOAK poly-clay soft-bodied dolls, but my favourites are the BJDs.
Best made of resin, they are horrendously expensive to buy, so I started making my own. (Incidentally, I've probably spent enough on silicone and resin over the last 3 years to buy myself 3 or 4 commercially produced dolls...)

So, Door prizes...
I have three.

A grey resin BJD. Her name is Evelyn.

Here's a better indication of her colouring.

A Dragon "bead" made in the Friesenesque style

A Goddess brooch.

So, leave a comment.
You have to have a blog, and I have to be able to see it - so leave a link to, or "comment as" (which should put a link in your name).

I'll draw three numbers with the random number generator on Feb 17th.

That's all the rules, easy, huh?
